Wikinger Wind Farm

About the project

Located next to the island of Rügen in the Baltic Sea, the Wikinger offshore wind farm was inaugurated in October 2018. Wikinger is the first facility of its kind designed and operated alone by Iberdrola.

The Wikinger plant was built in 18 months and since the end of 2017 it has been supplying 350 megawatts to the German grid, supplying renewable energy to some 350,000 German households. This operation will prevent the emission of almost 600,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere per year.

A mega-project in which Hawke has been the designated company for the sealing of cables and pipes.
