Canberra (LHD)

Barco para helicópteros LHD Canberra

The Canberra class is a helicopter landing ship (LHD) built for the Royal Australian Navy. The Spanish design offered by Navantia was selected in 2007, for the construction of the ships from the keel to the flight deck. Its construction was carried out in the facilities of Ferrol and Fene (Spain) and began in 2008. The deck measures 202.3 x 32 meters (664 x 105 ft) and stands at a height of 27.5 meters (90 ft), with six places for helicopters up to MRH-90 size to operate simultaneously. The 990-square-meter (10,700-square-foot) deck hangar accommodates eight medium-sized helicopters, and an additional ten can be carried if the light vehicle deck is used for additional helicopter space. Two aircraft elevators (a large one aft center and a smaller one to starboard and forward of the island superstructure) connect the flight deck to the hangar deck. Hawke Transit System was the company in charge of carrying out the sealing of cables and pipes.

Mars Tankers Navy Vessels

Mars Tanker & Hawke

The Tide-class tanker (formerly the Military Afloat Reach and Sustainability (MARS) project) is a class of four fast fleet tankers that entered service with the British Royal Fleet Auxiliary from 2017. The 37,000 t ships provide fuel, food, fresh water, ammunition and other supplies to Royal Navy vessels around the world. Norway ordered a similar 26,000 t version with a 48- bed hospital and greater solid stores capacity, but reduced liquid capacity. It was delivered in November 2018, as HNoMS Maud, two years after originally planned. The two classes are very similar, but are not directly comparable due to large variance in capabilities delivered.

HNLMS Karel Doorman is a multi-function support ship for amphibious operations of the Royal Netherlands Navy, which is also used by the German Navy. The ship replaced both navy’s replenishment oilers: HNLMS Zuiderkruis (scrapped in February 2014) and HNLMS Amsterdam (sold to Peru in December 2014).[3] At 204.7 meters (672 ft) It is the largest ship in service in the Netherlands navy. It was built at the Damen yard in Galati, Romania, being the largest warship ever built in Romania. On 16 August 2013, the ship arrived in Vlissingen, The Netherlands where final outfitting and installation of the weapon systems took place. In September 2013, it was announced that as part of a series of Dutch defense budget cuts, the vessel wouldn’t enter military service, but this decision was reversed by the Dutch government. The vessel cost 400 million Euros.
